Translucent Concrete

Allows light to pass through

This special concrete tile allows light to pass through. The tile contains optical fibers that make up about 5% of its surface area. The fibers are distributed uniformly throughout the surface to allow an outline to be clearly visible on the other side. The tiles have the unique combination of being nearly unbreakable and translucent.

The material is made with a combination of optical fibers and fine concrete. It can be produced as prefabricated building blocks. Due to the small size of the fibers, they blend into concrete and become a component of the material like small pieces of aggregate. The result is a new material, which is homogeneous in both its inner structure and its surfaces.

The material is manufactured by alternating layers of concrete and fibers. The concrete sets and the material is cut into tiles. The pattern of the fibers can be uniform, or can be designed to a specification such as artificial wood grain.

Lederen vloer

Opvallend in onze samenleving is het toenemende gebruik van mooie, kwalitatieve, milieuvriendelijke materialen en producten.
Leer is van oudsher een edel materiaal dat ons al millennia heeft overtuigd van zijn vele positieve eigenschappen. Zo is leer beschermend, prettig om aan te raken, stabiel en toch elastisch, heeft het een lange levensduur, is sterk belastbaar en makkelijk in onderhoud.

Wereldwijd maken wij gebruik van lederen producten, denk aan je schoenen, handschoenen, handtas, lederen jas, motorpak of aan je bankstel. Leder is een sterk materiaal en houd zich goed in de meest barre omstandigheden, is brandwerend, vochtwerend, geluidsdempend en herbruikbaar.

Bij een persoonlijke woonstijl past een interieur met lederaccenten dat een tikje extravagantie combineert met klassieke degelijkheid. Zelf ben ik een echte leer liefhebber en in mijn interieur staan dan ook glad lederen eetkamerstoelen en geschuurde lederen fauteuils met hockers. De combinatie van glad en geschuurd leder geeft een extra accent aan mijn woonkamer.
Het is dan ook fantastisch om te ontdekken dat leder het nieuwste materiaal op het gebied van natuurvloeren is. Met deze vloeren kun je een eigen persoonlijke stijl en smaak etaleren. Leder is een natuurproduct en naarmate de vloer ouder wordt, wordt deze nog mooier, de kleuren worden dieper en de kenmerken van het gebruik worden een deel van het leven, wat de vloer een eigen identiteit geeft. Daarnaast is het een zeer sterk en hoog belastbaar product wat voor een vloer vaak de beste eigenschap is.

Een lederen vloer is eenvoudig te onderhouden, word als laminaat geleverd en zwevend gelegd. Het clicksysteem zorgt voor een stevige verbinding en kan later eventueel verhuisd en verlegd worden. De lederen vloer is geschikt voor zwaar woongebruik, vloerverwarming en kan toegepast worden voor het inrichten van winkel, praktijk en hotel.

Tredford bekend van het alom bekende tredford tapijt introduceerde dit nieuwe en revolutionaire vloertype met als basis leder. Veledo lederen vloeren hebben als basismaterialen; leer, HDF panelen, kurk en latex producten op natuurlijke basis. De toplaag is gemaakt van leervezels wat een restproduct is vanuit de leer industrie. De speciale oppervlaktebehandeling op basis van natuurlijke oliën en wax maakt deze vloer bijzonder sterk, robuust en gemakkelijk in onderhoud.
Je kunt kiezen uit vier verschillende motieven – croco, torro, buffalo en angus – in verschillende kleuren.

Croco is een opvallende, elegante, exotische en spannende lederen vloer zonder opdringerig aanwezig te zijn. De keuze bestaat uit de kleuren, lichtbruin, donkerbruin en zwart.

Torro is een lederen vloer met een eenvoudig ritmisch motief dat het warme, met liefde gekozen en stijlvolle karakter van het interieur benadrukt. Leverbaar in 5 kleuren, van licht tot donkerbruin en van antraciet tot zwart.

Buffalo heeft een structuur die je optisch verleid tot het zien van meer ruimte.
Het is een tijdloze lederen vloer in een lichte of donkere uitvoering.

Angus is met zijn authentieke structuur een lederen vloer met opvallend veel expressie in het interieur.
De keuze is een licht of donkere uitvoering.

Elk vloerdeel is ca. 90 cm lang en 30 cm breed met een totale dikte van ca. 11 mm.

Diplomat have used a 'continuos craft' process that leaves visible construction marks. Its part of a production approach that leverages Ashley & Matthew's making experience to produce short edition collector pieces.

Yonoh sent over their latest project, a lamp made out of IKEA parts for Surtido. The premise behind Surtido de Mutaciones is pretty interesting...Basically that IKEA is actually a supplier of raw materials, rather than of finished products. They challenged 35 designers to go to IKEA and to come up with new products that used existing IKEA parts. Everything used in their products had to come from IKEA, including screws, seats, screens, etc

Past A-Room-A-Looms in Los Angeles and Philadelphia have generated a curiosity for weaving and empowered the viewer to co-create a large-scale artistic project. Some past materials used have been: Dog fur, weeds from a neighbor’s garden, a blanket from distant travels, bubble wrap, the yellow pages, an ex-girlfriend’s pajamas, John Baldessari’s toilet paper, audio cassette tape, and tons of old clothes.

Take one rusty, beat up old MG Midget, two creative artists and some sturdy recycled and leftover materials and this is what you get – the Woven Car. Ann Conte and Jeanne Wiley have renovated an old clunker by re-skinning it in sturdy recycled and overstock materials. The vehicle is now on display as part of a new exhibit at the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset, MA, along with a number of other Mixed Media pieces.
