This sprayable, viscoelastic polymer reduces noise and vibration with minimum weight, bulk, and cost. Sound-Dampening Paint is engineered specifically for nonporous materials including stainless steel, galvanized iron, aluminum, and composite materials like reinforced plastics. Once applied, it can reduce noise levels by 6-20 decibels. In most cases it is applied with a spray gun, but it can also be rolled or painted on. It cures very quickly, typically in under 20 minutes, and its noise-dampening characteristics will improve as it cures over the following 14 days.
Sound-Dampening Paint can be used in cars, appliances, computers, elevators, and in any application where a nonporous surface requires noise or vibration dampening. This fully ROHS-compliant material is also an environmentally friendly product with very low VOCs. It can be applied in a 0.02-0.06 inch thick coat for variable dampening effects. Like most paints and coatings, it adheres best to clean, dry surfaces. No significant changes are needed in the manufacturing process.
