growing vase

austrian creative comapny mischer'traxler has displayed their audience contingent, self-actualizing vase, 'collective works' in milan for designweek 2012. 
designboom was present to watch the device output a sculptural work which was decorated with small green markings along its exterior. 
the length and intensity of the strokes was based upon the equipment´s motion sensors picking up the number of individuals gathered around the table. 
the vessel-like construction covers the surface of the vase with seemingly random clusters of colorful markings based upon the number of audience members 
gathered to witness the creation of the object. the interactive piece was first developed for 'w - hotel's designer of the future award' in 2011 but was shown 
as part of the 'austria design - raw and delicate' exhibition.
